Capable Canine & Handler Training can help you with your training needs; from puppy socializing to teaching your intolerant dog manners. Peggy J. Lee, head trainer offers private instruction in order for you and your dog to have her full 100% attention. She is completely attentive to the needs of you and your dog during the sessions. Not only does she provide you with one-on-one force free coaching, she comes to you!!! Peggy offers three different options for you to choose from:

In-home training - dog training is held at your home where you and your dog are most comfortable with the least amount of distractions. The success of the training depends on you practicing between sessions.

Canine Tutoring - your dog is trained at your home by a professional trainer. Followed by training sessions with you to teach you what your dog has learned.

Home-Style Board & Train - your dog is trained by a professional dog trainer at the trainer's home where your dog is brought in a family environment learning house manners along with obedience training. Followed by training sessions with you to teach you what your dog has learned.

Training Methods

Capable Canine & Handler Training uses non-aversive, modern, motivating, effective training techniques. The use of positive reinforcement and negative punishment (a good thing goes away) are the primary teaching tools. Luring with food and shaping are the primary methods used. Your dog receives a combination of food, praise, or play as rewards for performing behaviors on cue. These same rewards are removed for non-compliance. The trainer's focus is on rewarding (reinforcing or increasing) wanted behaviors as opposed to physically punishing for unwanted behavior.
The sessions are designed to educate you on the fundamentals of dog behavior, this way you can communicate clearly with your canine companion. As much as we would like to believe that our dogs think like we do, they simply have different cognitive abilities and communication skills. Bridging the communication gap between you and your companion is the key to forming a long lasting relationship. Through a psychological approach you can establish proper roles, acceptable and un-acceptable behavior, all without the need to use any sort of physical force.

All training sessions begin with an initial session that lasts approximately 75 minutes.

Cost $125.00.

At that session the instructor will be able to evaluate the relationship between you and your dog. We also discuss:

Your day to day routine with your dog.

Your dog's history, current skills and any behavior concerns.

Customize the right training program for you and your dog(s) success and how best to meet your goals.
